Steve is an experienced Chartered Manager, specialising in the delivery of integrated and sustainable resilience, incident management and response solutions across all levels of organisational structure.
A member of the BCI North Midlands Regional Forum Planning Committee and an active member of the Emergency Planning Society, Steve graduated from Coventry University Centre for Disaster Management as one of the first students to gain a BSc Hons, Development and Health in Disaster Management.
Soon after, he was appointed Head of a Local Authority Emergency Planning Unit with responsibility for all areas of Emergency Planning and Business Continuity as well as the implementation of and compliance with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004. During his time at the Local Authority, Steve also had responsibility for the 24/7, 365 operations of the CCTV systems across the Borough.
In 2006, Steve was appointed to a Russell Group University as the first dedicated Resilience Planning specialist in the Higher Education Sector, where he devoted his time to improving the resilience of the University, whilst promoting the need to establish contingency plans across the Higher and Further Education Sectors through the establishment of the Higher Education Business Continuity Network (HEBCoN).
In 2010, Steve joined the Resilience Team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust where he has responsibility for the management and development of the Trust Business Continuity as well as being part of the 24/7/365 team to provide tactical advice and support to the Trust in the event of an incident.
