Russ Parramore MBCI
I served as a Police Officer with South Yorkshire Police and retired in the rank of Sergeant in March 2010, after 30 years.
Throughout my service I gained experience in many areas, including, Communications, Emergency Planning, Operational Planning, Business Continuity, IT & ICT, Health & Safety, Leadership and Management.
I have been involved in high profile incidents including Industrial disputes, disasters, royal and political visits.
I was trained in Disaster Victim Identification and was the Regional Police Coordinator for DVI. I was temporarily the National DVI coordinator.
I worked as office manager at the Police National Information Coordination Centre, in 2005, following the Asian Tsunami, responsible for overseas deployments.
Within South Yorkshire I was responsible for a team of people who arranged mutual aid and overseas deployments and I was involved in the arrangements to support the G8 leaders summit at Gleneagles in 2005.
I was the South Yorkshire LRF, Strategic Coordination Centre Office Manager during the Sheffield Floods in 2007.
Since August 2010 I have been employed by South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue as the Emergency Planning Officer.
I am responsible for Business Continuity Management, Contingency Planning, COMAH Plans and all matters relating to Emergencies and Resilience.
I am an active member of the South Yorkshire LRF. I represent South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue at a number of BC groups including the Chief Fire Officers Association BC group and regional BCI forum.
I completed the 5 day BCI training course in 2012 and received the BCI certificate and affiliated membership of the BCI. In 2014 I was awarded MBCI following completion of CPD.
I am now a Certified Lead Auditor for ISO22301 and carry out internal audit of South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue BC plans.
