Mike Osborne Honorary MBCI
Managing Director of Business Continuity at Phoenix, part of the Daisy Group
Mike has been in the IT Industry since 1986 and involved in Business Continuity since 1989. During this time Mike has lead the transition of the business from a start-up IT Disaster Recover business to a multi-million UK-Wide leader of Business Continuity solutions, supporting many of the UK’s most recognised firms.
Mike is heavily involved with a number of key industry bodies. He was inaugural Chair of the Business Continuity Service Providers Group, an early board member of The Scottish Continuity Group, a member of the Business Continuity Institute and the West Midlands IoD. An established media commentator, Mike contributes regularly to industry and business publications, a position that has allowed him to help raise the profile of business continuity planning and its importance to the widest possible audience.
His passion, approach and experience have been recognised many times in award nominations. In particular, he was awarded Industry Personality of the Year at the Continuity Insurance & Risk Awards in 2007 and in 2006 he was a finalist in the Institute of Directors ‘Young Director of the Year’ award. In recognition of his contribution to the industry, Mike was awarded one of the first Honorary MBCI grades by the Business Continuity Institute in 2008 and voted ‘Most Helpful Person in the Industry’ by the London ‘Bang’ business continuity community.Mike is responsible for Phoenix Group’s Risk, Recovery and Resilience services strategy, ensuring that it continues to provide innovative, flexible solutions ensuring security and business value for its customers.
