Mark uses his detailed knowledge to great effect preparing and delivering customised workshops to support organisations in their education and also to help develop their own business continuity management systems or IT service continuity preparedness.
In the past five years Mark has designed, developed and delivered many incident management exercises, using scenarios such as pandemics, IT failures, service failures, building damage, industry hostility and weather events. These exercises have been designed to take as little as two hours up to 5 days, exercising the ability to manage the incident in a format where teams are put under pressure by the constant changing nature of some incidents. A significant number of these exercises were run as multi team events with master event logs created for both teams being given different information to examine the reaction of the teams and also check how effective their communications were.
As a consultant Mark has supported a number of organisations through the process of certification to BS 25999 and ISO 22301. Whilst at the same time helping them to recognise the importance of the management system and the maintenance of it.Marks experience started as a recovery team member in IT teams until his move into management roles and being accountable for business continuity.
