Elaine Tomlin, MBCI, DBCI
Elaine has over 10 years’ experience heading-up business continuity management for Certus, an Irish financial services company formally known as Bank of Scotland Ireland. Elaine is a highly experienced BCM practitioner and currently represents Europe on the BCI, Global Council Membership Committee. In the past, Elaine has been shortlisted for a number of awards including European Business Continuity Manager of the year (BCI), Global Business Continuity Manager of the year (BCI) and Resiliency Manager of the Year (CIR).
After starting her career in software and telecoms, in 2004 Elaine moved to the financial services sector, within Operational Risk where she headed-up the implementation and launch of Bank of Scotland Ireland’s BCM Programme. Elaine is a recognised BCM subject matter expert with significant experience developing, facilitating and implementing varied crisis management exercises, technical recovery exercises and business continuity strategy planning for multiple clients. Elaine works closely with all key crisis management stakeholders and particularly with technical recovery teams and also manages emergency response protocols for the business.
Elaine is a graduate of Coventry University where she studied Business Continuity Management and later Enterprise Risk Management (UCD), Project Management and more recently achieved her certification in ISO22301 BCM Lead Auditor. Elaine is also a BCM mentor with experience training Irish practitioners, a registered BCI Mentor and a member of the Emergency Planning Society.
