Chris Horne MBCI
Christopher Horne works out of Toronto Canada as Assistant Vice President Business Continuity Management and Corporate Security at CIBC Mellon. In this role he aligned the company’s Business Continuity program to the ISO standard for Business Continuity Management Systems (ISO 22301:2012), and in 2015 through the British Standards Institute (BSI) successfully certified the program to the standard.
Christopher started working in Business Continuity planning in 2003, and over the course of his professional career he has supported diverse operations in the retail, banking, energy, and financial services industries. He has been responsible for Canadian and North American Business Continuity programs, and has also coordinated planning efforts with parent organizations located in the United Kingdom and the United States. Christopher is a Member of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI), a Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP), a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and is Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC).
Christopher has been actively involved in the BCI (Canada) since 2005. He has volunteered with the Ontario Greater Toronto Area (GTA) forum in various positions and previously held the Canadian Chapters Communication Coordinator role from November 2006 to September 2008. He is the current GTA forum leader and became the President of the Business Continuity Institute’s Canada Chapter in June of 2014.
